The person behind the trips

Alfredo, EKAYA founder and skipper, in Vilanculos
I grew up on this water — fishing these channels as a boy, and skippering boats here for more than ten years since. EKAYA is a young company, but the hands on the tiller aren't new to the sea. This coast is home, and I want you to feel that.

Why EKAYA

Because this is home for us,
not just a destination.

  • Locally rooted in Vilanculos

We live and work on this coast year-round. The people planning your trip are the same people running your days on the water.

  • No pressure planning

You message us. We send a clear plan. You decide in your own time.

  • Weather-first safety

If sea conditions aren't safe and we cancel a boat day, you don't pay for that day.

  • Quality without pretense

Good boats, good crews, thoughtful days - done right, without the noise.

How it works

Planning with EKAYA,
in three steps.

A simple back-and-forth until the route, rhythm, and pace feel right for you.

  1. Step 1

    You send dates + vibe

Tell us when you're coming, who's traveling, and whether you want slow days, active days, or both.

  2. Step 2

    We send a draft plan

You get a route, a day-by-day rhythm, and clear options for how the trip can flow.

  3. Step 3

    We refine and confirm

We tweak it together until it feels like your trip, then we lock it in.

Come home
to Mozambique.

Tell us when you're coming and what you're into. We'll send back a rough plan, a price, and probably a photo of last night's sunset.
